interceptions thrown and fumbles lost)

Research Questions:
How do fumbles and interceptions affect a team’s win percentage?
Do fumbles and interceptions affect a team’s number of points scored?
Is there a statistical relationship between the number of fumbles and interceptions a team has?
Statistical Methods:
To analyze this data, we would look to see if there is any correlation between the number of
turnovers and the win percentage of each team. We would also have to calculate the win
percentage of each team based on their 2008 season record.
Proposal Draft:
The source of our data is the NFL statistics website. This is a credible source because the NFL is
in charge of the football games played by both the NFC and AFC. The main goal of our study is
to determine how turnovers affect the game and the team’s overall performance. We will
calculate the win percentage of each team and determine the correlation with the total number of
fumbles lost and interceptions thrown. This will tell us if there is any statistical significance
between turnovers and game results.
