Alpha Gamma Delta Kappa Kappa Gamma The Omega chapter here at the University of Akron has been very busy over the course of this semester! Over summer, we had a few volunteering events and we prepared alot for recruitment. Recruitment went extremely well and we got a GREAT group of new girls! Greek week was really fun and our chapter placed first overall! In October, we volunteered at the Step Out Diabetes Walk, and held our annual philanthropy event Lipjam! All the proceeds went to people around campus with diabetes. We had our red, buff, and green ceremonies prior to initiation, and we initiated 15 new girls!! We know that these new girls will continue to make Alpha Gamma Delta as great as it can be! Kappa Kappa Gamma’s semester has been great so far, and we’re looking forward to next semester already. In November, 17 wonderful women were initiated into our chapter and we couldn’t be more excited. Each new active has brought a lot of energy, enthusiasm and excitement to our chapter. We also hosted our annual philanthropy Balloon Pop this semester during the Homecoming football game. The weather was great and everyone had a lot of fun! Zippy even came to help out! We met our fundraising goal so a big “thanks” goes out to everyone who participated. Speaking of homecoming, our very own Carolyn Hofer was named Homecoming Queen. We couldn’t think of anyone more deserving and are so proud! Kappa also hosted Pin Stripes and Pearls, our 1930’s themed date party. Each Kappa and her date dressed in 1930’s attire and pearls were the accessory of choice for the night. It was a fun event and a great way to end the semester. Kappa hopes that everyone is ending the semester well, and wishes everyone a safe break and happy holidays! Alpha Phi Alpha Phi has had a wonderful semester with our very successful philanthropy King of Hearts, and many community service events we participated in. We had a date party at LUX and we all had a wonderful time dancing and spending time with our dates and our sisters. We had a SAPHI Thanksgiving dinner with Sigma Alpha Epsilon. We are currently in transitions for our new positions and we are looking forward to winter break.
