Spanish and German 1. Course presentation In this course the students will learn to translate from German into Spanish in an idiomatic, efficient and well grounded way. We will use ​
online ​
linguistic resources and we will discover the current situation of the translating profession. The students will have to download from the Aula Global all the materials that will make up the basis of their personal work and they will have to translate texts that we will be pooling in the seminars. 2. Competencies to be attained: Upon completing the degree programme a host of skills should be attained and this subject addresses the following general (G) and specific (S) skills defined in the form of learning outcomes: G2: Situation analysis and problem solving →​
Analysing and solving comprehension problems caused by linguistic, cultural or re­expression issues of middle­high difficulty. G13: Individual work skills →​

Translating middle­high difficulty texts regarding cultural, rhetorical and stylistic issues or field specialities 3. Contents •
The students will learn about the current documentation sources (both online and offline) and they will translate from parallel texts. •
We will revise the several roles of the translator (freelance, agencies, project manager, customer adviser, etc.). 4. Evaluation and reassessment The course's mark will be obtained from the following elements: Evaluation Reassessment Evaluation activity Percentage of the final mark Can it be reassessed? The involvement in the classroom will be evaluated through the students input an translation options that they bring to class. ●
The student will have to submit one or two translations along the term. A translation that has not been submitted or that does not follow the instructions given will become a mark of zero points in the calculation of the final mark. All tasks must be individual and originals. Any attempt at plagiarism will be punished with a zero in the final mark of the course. ●
In order to successfully complete the subject a mark of at least 5 must be obtained in the final exam. According to the evaluation framework, only the students that have failed the evaluation can sit for the reassessment A student with a qualification of "No Show" cannot sit for the reassessment.
