8 weeks in Summer
Economics for Equity and the Environment Network (E3) is a national
network of economists developing and applying new economic arguments
for environmental protection with a social justice focus. As part of its
mission to support better applied economics research and to involve
economists more actively in environmental policy, E3 places economics
graduate students in internships with environmental organizations during
the summer months. The internship program allows graduate students to
discover first-hand the real world issues confronting the environmental
community and explore avenues for their future research and professional
development. NGOs benefit from the expertise of the interns’ training in
economics and gain greater appreciation for the role economics can play
in supporting environmental protection.
