career in GIS
Geographic and Land Information Systems (GIS/LIS)
GIS/LIS is an academic discipline based on
computer solutions of geographic or spatially
referenced data. It combines the technology
of computer graphics (mapping) with the
features of the earth (geodatabase). The
use of GIS is rapidly becoming a major
benefit for many disciplines that have a
need to analyze and store geographic data.
The program prepares graduates to enter
the job market as GIS/LIS technicians for
business or industry.
