Up-to-date academic transcript
Academic reference from current university
Confirmation of English language proficiency for students enrolled at
university in a country where English is not the primary language. Level
required will depend on the faculty where the student will enrol. Details can
be found here

Application procedure
QMUL will endeavour to confirm a decision within 3 working days of receipt
of an online application with the required supporting documents. An offer
will be sent by email and postal mail. The student will accept the offer online
and receive login details to allow the submission of an application for
housing.

Students have up to Week Two of the semester to add/drop from their
schedule
Academic load
Students should enrol on 60 QMUL credits per semester.
VISA INFORMATION
Student Visitors/Short Term Student
Nationals of many countries (including Canada, Japan and the USA) can
come to the UK either as a Tier 4 (General) Student or as a Student Visitor.
A non-visa national (such as a national of Canada, Japan or the USA)
studying for one semester, can come to the UK as a student visitor/Short
Term Student without applying for immigration in advance. If a student is
not sure if they are a visa national, please see this guide published by the
Queen Mary Advice and Counselling Service: What Immigration permission
do I need to study at Queen Mary?
A visa national ( a student from a country where you need a visa to travel to
the UK), or a student enrolling on a course of study longer than six
months, must apply for Tier 4 (General) Student immigration permission
before travelling to the UK. Students apply at the British Visa Application
Centre for their country or region. You can find the centre for a country or
region by visiting the UK Visas website.
To allow students to apply for Tier 4 (General) Student immigration
permission, we will provide a Confirmation of Acceptance to Study
(CAS). This is a unique number which will enable UK Visas and
Immigration (UKVI) to access information which we have provided about a
student’s course of study.
ARRIVAL INFORMATION
Before arrival
The Study Abroad team will send students and home institutions predeparture e-newsletters, Countdown. Several issues will be sent prior to
arrival and will contain information/instructions of immigration matters,
module registration etc.
Airport collection
QMUL will provide a free collection service from Heathrow Airport. Details
and booking instructions will be sent to students via Countdown
Orientation
An orientation programme will be run in both semesters. The orientation

ACCOMMODATION INFORMATION
Application
All students who submit their online housing application by the advertised
deadline are normally offered a room on-campus;
September arrivals (mid-July)

HEALTH INFORMATION
Fees
All non-EEA nationals who apply to come to the UK for a timelimited period of more than six months, have to pay
an Immigration Health Surcharge. Australian and New Zealand
nationals are exempt from this charge as reciprocal healthcare
agreements are in place. For students the charge is £150 a year
for each year of study. This charge has to be paid when you
make your immigration application, on applications where
payment is made from 6 April 2015. For additional information

International single semester students:
