RESEARCH EXPERIENCE: 30 years Research Experience in the field of Thin Films,
Materials for Microwave integrated circuits, thick films, Optical waveguides.
Seventeen students have obtained their PhD and two M.Phils under my guidance. At
present eight students are working for their PhD .
The areas of research are Thick and Thin film microstripline components using
different materials; Ferrites and magneto dilelectrics for microwaves; Synthetic metals
for radar absorbers and metallisation; Manganites for thermistors; Microstrip
components as vegetation moisture sensor; Optical coatings for optoelectronic devices.
Carbon nanostructures and ferroelectric composites for microwave applications,
Metamaterials for impedance matching .
Around 175 papers have been published in international and national journals
Three research projects have been completed in the area of thick film microstripline elements and thin film
optical waveguiding elements. One DAE-BRNS project is ongoing

Achievements:
* Cost effective thick film metallization for microstripline components upto 18 GHz
* Overlay technique for studying material properties using microstripline components
*Thick film directional coupler in the Ku band and seven section broad band filter fabrication
* Measurement of microwave permeability of ferrite thick film using microstrip overlay technique
* Four materials have been chosen by ICDD for their diffraction files as new materials.
* Hexaferrite thin film by CBD method acts as a transmitter.
* Four Manganite compositions chosen as new materials for ICDD.

Future Plans
**Technological expertise in fabricating large surface area nano composite synthetic
metals for foldable, light weight, microstrip antenna with application in space power
beaming and alternative metallisation.
**Deeper understanding of how the conducting polymer composite nanostructure
determine the microwave characteristics.
** Planar Thermistors for direct microwave sensing.
** Planer magnetic, ferrite and ferroelectric components for nonreciprocal devices.
** Use of microstripline components for bio vegetation moisture sensing
** Development of nanocomposite polymer channel microstrip component and optical
waveguide and their integration.
** Magneto dilelectric meta material microstrip devices
