Access
Aim
The Bathurst Early Childhood Intervention Service will ensure that all children and
their families have access to appropriate early childhood intervention services within
the Bathurst and Oberon Local Government Areas. Service users will also have
access to relevant and up-to-date information about the range of supports and
services that are available to them in the community. BECIS provides a free service
for children and their families.

In order to ensure service access is equitable for all BECIS will:
•Make information about the service available by:
•being proactive and responsive in providing information about BECIS services
•providing information in an accessible manner
•having a range of communication strategies available to ensure potential service users
know how to access the service
•Have clearly defined processes to access service that are:
•transparent
•regularly reviewed in consultation with service users
•Work with other organisations to increase each person’s support options by:
•having an understanding of supports and services available in the community
•working with local community, mainstream and specialist services to maintain community
engagement and referral networks
•providing information or support when recommending or referring to other services.
