FINANCIAL PLANNING SCHOLARSHIP | $3,000

The Department of Finance is pleased to announce the application period for the ValMark
Securities, Inc. Financial Planning Scholarship. There will be one award of $3,000 to be used
toward tuition and fees for the Fall 2013 semester. This award is available to full-time
undergraduate students attending The University of Akron, majoring in one of the College of
Business Administration (CBA) degree programs. The recipient must also intend to participate
in the ValMark internship program beginning Summer 2013.
This scholarship is made possible by the continued support from ValMark Securities, Inc. and its
President, Lawrence J. Rybka, a University of Akron alumnus and CFP® mark holder.
Applicant Criteria:
Applicants must be majoring in one of the College of Business Administration (CBA) degree programs.
The scholarship may be awarded to a student only once.

Sophomore Requirements


Cumulative GPA 3.25
Completed minimum 45 credit hours to date (not including current enrollment)
Junior Requirements


Cumulative GPA 3.25
Completed minimum 60 credit hours to date (not including current enrollment)
