Major Achievements during the period of Headship:
 The Chemistry Department was sponsored by UGC-SAP, DST-FIST and
large amount of funds were obtained.
 The number of research projects sanctioned was 13
 Major research equipments added to the department were 5, namely,
1. NMR (300 MHz)
2. UV-VIS-NIR Spectrophotometer
3. FT-IR Spectrophotometer
4. LCRBridge
5. Vaccum deposition unit.
 All the laboratories were renovated and new hall was constructed.
 Nearly, 90% of students got placements in big chemical Industries.
 Two new courses were introduced namely, M.Sc. in Applied Chemistry
and Certificate course in Analytical Instrumentation
 Consultancy Services were given to various industrial fields such as Civil
hospitals, at Ratnagiri and Chiplun, Silver Industry at Hupari and oil
Industries and Agriculture (Soil Analysis)
 Interaction between the students and teachers was increased,
 Number of female students was increased.
