and impressive sports center on campus, there is always

Designed for learning
The Henry Burnham Library on the NYC campus offers
well-equipped private and group study areas. Finance students
can also access Bloomberg technology computers in the Global
Portfolio Analysis Center. For aspiring entrepreneurs, head to
the Entrepreneurship Lab where you can develop your ideas
and present your business plans to future investors.

Golden Apple
The 200-acre Westchester campus offers a traditional American
style college community, in beautiful surroundings, just 40
minutes from New York City. The Pleasantville area has lush
green scenery and is abundant with arts, theater and historic
sites. The county is known by the locals as New York’s ‘Golden
Apple’ due to the high number of Fortune 500 companies such
as IBM, PepsiCo, and MasterCard operating here, alongside
entrepreneurial and emerging start-ups.
College experience
Join the close-knit community at Westchester, where there are
plenty of opportunities for you to challenge yourself and make
new friends. For sports lovers, there is a competitive athletics
program as well as a number of university sports teams to
join and support. The social scene is busy with more than
60 student societies including Glee Club, and a range of fun
fraternities and sororities.

Food of the world
New York City (NYC) is a delight for the senses with many sights,
sounds and flavors to experience. More than 800 languages
are spoken here, and art, music and food from various cultures
combine to make New York a very special place.
From strolling through beautiful Central Park, to taking in
breathtaking cityscape views from the Empire State Building, the
city has hundreds of attractions and activities to offer all year round.
Hot dogs, bagels, sushi, pizza; New York is famous for its
traditional dishes and international cuisines. With around 8,000
restaurants, almost every global dish is available at all hours of
the day and night.
Culture capital
Getting around New York is easy using one of the world’s best
and most low-cost public transport systems. The subway and
buses run 24-hours a day and one of the 13,000 famous yellow
cabs is never far away. The free Staten Island Ferry is great for
iconic views of the Statue of Liberty and Manhattan skyline.
Home to the highest number of theaters in any city in the world,
NYC is famous for outstanding plays, comedy and Broadway
musicals. Frequent festivals and parades fill the city streets,
celebrating everything from Thanksgiving to Chinese New Year.

Orientation week
In the first week of your program, you will enjoy tours around the

As an international student, you will have access to everything
the University offers. Use the libraries for study, the computer
facilities for research, and join sports clubs and associations for

the first day on your program on campus.

Introduction to the University Community
Explore the unique aspects of university life by engaging in
personal discovery through reading, writing and discussion.
* Introduction to the University Community will always be taken the semester you begin your Global Pathways program. If you enter at Level 2 or Level 3, you will still be
required to take this 1 credit course.
New York and the visual arts
An introduction to the painting, sculpture, photography, and
installation art of the New York art world. Study is accompanied
by visits to a wide range of museums, galleries, and artist studios.
What will I study?
Introduction to Computing
Guided, hands-on exercises with Microsoft Excel, web
development (HTML) and computer programming (Alice), and
take part in lectures and discussions about software topics,
careers and society.
With Global Pathways you will study a combination of university preparation and core
academic courses to ensure you are ready to succeed at Pace University.
Language courses
Develop confidence and fluency in English language by
studying a range of skills subjects: Conversation and Listening;
Grammar and Writing; Pronunciation; Reading and Vocabulary;
Vocabulary Building; and Idioms.
Study skills courses
Academic Writing
Develop better control of written English and understand how to
use it in academic writing. Learn to compose, evaluate and edit
essays for grammar, organization, and tone.
Academic Reading / Study Skills
Learn how to write an American-style research paper, build
academic reading and test-taking strategies, and develop an
ability to listen and take notes during lectures.
Religions of the globe
A study of the major religions of the globe — Buddhism,
Christianity, Confucianism, Hinduism, Islam, Judaism and Taoism
— and the formative influences they have on human culture.

Credential evaluation

This is a service provided for Global Pathways students that
gives you extra peace of mind when preparing for your degree.
If you pass your pathway program with the minimum grades
and good attendance, but do not achieve the required results
to progress to Pace University, we will help you find a place at
another US college or university.
If you need to take an English language test, ask your Global
Pathways representative about the Kaplan iBT. This specialized
English test is accepted for entry to all programs in this brochure.
External credential evaluation is not required for Global
Pathways applicants.

2. Admission
If successful, you will be offered admission to the University, either
through the Global Pathways program or direct entry. If you are
admitted to the Global Pathways program and submit a higher
English test score before classes begin, you may be offered a
shorter duration pathway or direct entry.
3. Accept offer within 30 days
To secure your place at the University, you will need to accept the
offer by paying a deposit (which will be specified in your offer letter)
within 30 days of receiving your offer. Payment can be made via
bank draft, electronic transfer or credit card.
4. Receive I-20
Once you have accepted your offer, and after all financial
documentation has been received, a visa eligibility document (Form
I-20) is issued. You will need the I-20 to apply for a visa.
5. Apply for a visa
Allow approximately six weeks to receive your US visa after the
US embassy has received your complete visa application and
payment. Your Global Pathways representative can provide help
and assistance with the visa process. In the case of a visa refusal,
your Global Pathway deposit will be refunded.
6. Pay program tuition
Once you have secured your visa, you must pay (by bank draft, bank
transfer or credit card) tuition for your program before your enrollment.
Curriculum vitae / résumé: List work / school history, languages, awards, certificates, volunteer work, and accomplishments (required for master’s degree, optional for undergraduate).

Completed Pace University Financial Affidavit for International Students form with supporting documentation (bank statement / letter or scholarship letter)

7. Receive pre-arrival information
We will send you all the information you need such as your
accommodation information and what to pack so you can prepare
for your trip.
8. Arrive in the USA
Join your new classmates in the Orientation Program to receive a full
introduction to university life in the USA. You will make friends and
get help and support on adjusting to your new home.
