The academic year 2004-2005 was one of great activity, increased employment opportunities, and celebration. A special event was held in June to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Co-op Education at Pace University. Eight Pace Co-op Alumni were inducted into the National Commission for Cooperative Education Hall of Fame at the event. It was a bittersweet evening as Joan A. Mark, our executive director for the past 20 years, announced her retirement. The information compiled in this report is a review of Co-op Education and Career Services activity as well as post-graduate employment data compiled from bachelor and master degree candidates who completed a graduation survey between August 2005 and March 1st 2006. Candidates who received degrees in January, June and September 2005 were surveyed. The majority of information in this report was received as a result of a print mailing, follow up phone calls, and emails to those students who had registered with our offices. It was preceded by an online survey that was not successful. The response rate this year was approximately 28% of the graduating class. Jody Queen-Hubert Executive Director Cooperative Education Program Pace Co-op Education continues to be a leader in the NYC metro area among four year colleges. Our President, David A. Caputo, serves as a Trustee on the board of the National Commission of Cooperative Education. This year four Pace freshmen received Co-op Scholarships valued at over $20,000. • 955 Cooperative Education Internship positions were held by undergraduate and graduate students in 2004-2005. 733 (76%) were held by undergraduate students and 222 (23%) were graduate student placements. 182 (19%) of these positions were held by international students. • Co-op students worked in part-time and summer pre-professional, study-related internships with 478 employers in the tri-state area. 50 of these employers were not-for-profit or government agencies. • The hourly salary earned by undergraduate co-op students averaged $13.65 and for graduate students averaged $16.10 per hour. 27% of placements were in non-paid co-op internships. • 396 graduating students held a co-op position between May 2004 and August 2005.
