Pace University Career Services Graduation Outcomes & Internship Report 2010 Career Services Graduation Outcomes & Internship Report 2010 Table of Contents Pages Overview & Highlights 3-5 Data by Schools Dyson College of Arts and Science 6-12 Lienhard School of Nursing 13-14 Lubin School of Business 15-20 School of Educations 21-22 Seidenberg School of Computer Science and Information Systems 23-25 Pace University Career Services Annual Graduation Outcomes and Internship Report 2010 Overview: Pace University’s Career Services department prides itself on collecting and reporting yearly graduation outcomes in the form of an Annual Report. This data is used to summarize placements (both fulltime and internships), salaries and continuing education plans for each graduation class. The survey is conducted at cap & gown pick up sessions in May, through mailings that are sent out after each of the 3 graduation dates (January, June & September) and then another follow‐up mailing to all non‐ respondents 3 months after the initial mailing, followed by phone calls that are conducted by RuffaloCody Call Center from December through April. Despite a very slow economic recovery, Pace students were fortunate to have access to over 3,000 full‐ time jobs and over 2,800 internships that were posted on e Recruiting, our dedicated student job board. This represents more than a 10% increase from last year’s postings. Pace University’s strong commitment to internships and other practice‐based experiences give our students an advantage in a difficult job market. In fact, data just collected on Pace’s class of 2011 indicates an undergraduate employment rate (at graduation) of 12% above the national average. Graduates from the class of 2010 who entered the job market with experience gained through an internship, clinical, fieldwork or student teaching fared best. These students had a 21% higher full‐time placement than those that had not completed an internship. 67% of students who responded to our graduation survey were employed, up 5% from last year; even though the national unemployment rate was over 10%. More than half of all Pace undergraduates with reported employment had secured their jobs on or before commencement and 82% were in jobs related to their field of study. This report summarizes the employment highlights of the Pace Class of 2010 including internship activity from 2009‐2010 with detailed school reports.
