Dr. Nilesh Bansode, M. V. Sc. (ICAR Fellow)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Dr. Nilesh Bansode is a Veterinary Physician specialized in Animal Nutrition. An alumnus of Bombay
Veterinary College, after a brief tenure as Assistant Scientist in ICAR research project at BVC, he joined
University of Pune as Assistant Professor in Department of Zoology. As a Assistant Professor he taught
Physiology, Epidemiology, Entomology and Laboratory Animal Science. He guided 5 M.Sc. students for
dissertation and completed a research project.
He was Visiting Scholar at University of Berlin (FUB - Germany). His research project was on “Mycotoxin
effects in poultry with special focus on the intestinal glucose transporter SGLT1 and development of
immunohistochemical techniques”. He participated in international conferences for research
presentations at Rome (Italy) and at Thessaloniki (Greece). Dr. Nilesh Bansode also visited ETH Zurich
(Switzerland) for advanced training in Biomedical Imaging and was a editorial committee member of
“International conference on Biology Beyond Borders” organized by University of Pune.
Dr. Bansode believes in fundamental role of Higher Education as an equalizer and is advocate of
interdisciplinary academics. He is member of Marathi Vidnyan Parishad, Laboratory Animal Scientist
Association of India, American Society for Microbiology and Alumni Association of University of Berlin.
Dr. Nilesh Bansode has general interests in History of Science especially History of Medicine, Science
popularization and IPR’s.
