“Proteins that influence Vibrio cholerae motility”
Biology Alumnus Wins Prestigious Award - Annette A. Angus, a
former MARC and MBRS student has been awarded a University of
California Presidential Postdoctoral Fellowship. Annette previously
worked with Dr. Aida Metzenberg for three years and with Dr.
Michael Summers for one summer. The scholarship is a national
competition designed to encourage outstanding women and minority
Ph.D. recipients to establish research careers in academia in
California and become our next generation of UC professors.

New Faculty Publication - Dr. Steve Dudgeon and colleagues now
have a publication in press in the ecology journal Oecologia on
“Experimental confirmation of multiple community states in a marine
ecosystem”
Undergraduate Field Study and Camping Weekend (Spring
Break April 3-5) - Graduate students in Ecology and Marine Biology
are inviting undergraduate students interested in ecology, evolution
and field studies to participate in a weekend learning about the
diversity and ecology of California’s terrestrial and intertidal
ecosystems. A $5 cost covers food. For more information contact
