“A Pumilio Domain that Forms Heritable Amyloid Aggregates in Yeast
Regulates Pumilio-Mediated Translational Repression”
The Coral Reef Olympics — The entire Edmunds lab participated
in the 11th International Coral Reef Symposium in Fort Lauderdale in
July which is held every four years. Dr. Pete Edmunds research
group gave three talks of which one was by former graduate student
Hollie Putnam. They also presented three posters, one of which
was presented by former graduate student Nancy Muehllehner, and
one presented by current graduate student Danny Green.
K-12 and CSUN research — High school student Sarine
Shamirian, who has been working in Dr. Steve Oppenheimer’s lab,
presented her research at the annual meeting of the Southern
California Academy of Sciences in May.
Community Service — Dr. Polly Schiffman gave a presentation
about grassland ecology for a Sierra Club group at Harvey Mudd
College (in Claremont, CA) in July.
