• Conferences and Workshops — Graduate student Jessica Dooley (advisor: Dr.
Hertel) presented her work on Bald Eagle space use on the northern Channel
Islands at the 7th California Islands Symposium in Oxnard, CA, Feb. 5-7.
• Research on California Biodiversity — Dr. Paul Wilson (currently on sabbatical)
has discovered another moss new to California, Bryum schleicheri will be now
known from the high Sierra north to the high mountains of the Pacific Northwest
• Outreach — Dr. Steve Dudgeon and graduate students Christina Vasquez and
Carly Ryan, along with some hermit crabs and colonies of hydroids, visited Old
Orchard Elementary School for their annual Career Week
• Biology Website — The Biology website http://www.csun.edu/biology/ has been
going through major revisions this academic year. New pages in the areas of
Cellular/Molecular/Physiology and Genetics/Developmental have recently been
updated. If you have comments or suggestions on any of our website information
