Use Page Numbering in a Header or Footer
Discussion
A header is a line(s) of information that appears inside the top margin of a page. The
information helps to identify the document.
A footer is a line(s) of information that appears inside the bottom margin of a page.
Again, the information helps to identify the document.
In Excel, there are built-in headers and footers that are installed with the program.
These built-in headers and footers may be selected or a custom header or footer of your
own design may be created.
Here is one method to select a built-in header or footer.
1. To place page numbers:
a. On only one of the worksheets, click in a cell on the active worksheet.
b. To select all of the worksheets, right click (two finger tap or Control + click)
on a sheet tab. From the shortcut menu that displays, choose
Select All Sheets.
2. Click on File in the menu.
