Edit Plus - Quick Reference Guide

Login
Type /_edit at the end of the URL of the page you want to edit
e.g. http://www.csu.edu.au/page-you-want-to-edit/_edit
/_edit
2. Press Enter
3. Enter your username and password if prompted.
Ensure the page is
in Safe Editing
before you edit.

Add
1. Click New in the toolbar.
The Create Asset Wizard appears
2. Choose the asset type you want to create.
3. Add information as required.

Saving your work does not publish your work. Apply for approval in the details
screen
Start in the right place
Use the Asset Finder to navigate to the part of the
website where you want to add the Asset.
Move an asset after you create it
Follow the steps in Introduction to Edit+

Publish
No workflow? Ask a coordinator to approve.
Changes not showing? Due to caching, it can take up to 3 hours for changes to appear on the public website.
Quick fix: Add /_nocache or /_recache to the end of the URL of the page you updated.
Have admin permissions? Approve and publish assets from the Details screen, whether Workflow is on or not.
Blue is just for you! - Assets under construction
cannot be seen by the public
Safe Editing - Changes to an asset in safe edit are not live until
they have been approved
Live - Green is to be seen. The public can view Live
assets. Changes are visible after the cache is cleared.
Edit Plus - Quick Reference Guide
The content editor toolbar
Use the toolbar to apply formatting, create lists, apply styles and insert inline images. The content editor works on the same principles as Word, or other kinds of editing
applications.
Paragraph styles. Use these buttons
to apply normal paragraph and
Heading styles to your text.
Hint: The largest Heading in your
content should be Heading 2. For
accessibility, start with Heading 2 and
nest headings in the right order.
Insert Table button. Once you know the ID or URL
of the video you want to embed, put your cursor
where you want to embed a video and click this
button. A popup appears where you can enter the
video information as shown here.

Manual text formatting buttons. Use these
buttons to apply Bold, italic, underline or
strikethrough.
Insert link button. Select the text you want
to link, then click this button to see the linking
popup.
Bullet list or numbered list. Select
the text you want to appear as a list,
then click the appropriate button.
Works the same as in MS Word!
Warning: Keep these styles to a minimum.
Most of the time they are not necessary.
Always check with your style guide before
applying a text format style.

Insert image button. First upload your image to
the site. Then put your cursor in the content,
where you want to insert an image, and click
this button
The Remove link button is activate when you
click on an existing link.
