The MTax Direct
For Students Starting in Fall 2016

The George W. Daverio School of Accountancy at
The University of Akron invites you to consider its
renowned Master of Taxation (MTax) degree now
offered from the convenience of your computer,
tablet, or mobile device. Candidates for this
program, which we call the MTax Direct, may
complete the MTax degree in as few as 15 months.
The MTax Direct permits students to focus their
studies in international taxation. The program
offers substantive technical and professional
knowledge and skills needed to excel as a tax
professional.
Students in the program take live classes at a
specified time. In case a work obligation or
business travel conflicts with the live class, all
classes are recorded for later viewing as needed.
This program has many distinct advantages,
including:
Convenience – interactive and delivered live via the
Internet to a laptop or mobile device, with capability
of viewing recorded sessions on demand.
Efficient – may be completed in as few as 15
months.
Accredited – the program is accredited by the
AACSB, the gold standard for business and
accounting accreditation.
Two foundation courses are required prior to
admission (Federal Taxation and Financial
Accounting) for students who have not had similar
classes.
