About the Projects
Leadership Experience Projects (LEPs) are
action-oriented projects, which include each
of the following:

An issue you are passionate about

A research component

An experienced project mentor

Enrollment in a 3 credit hour class

Up to $2000 in award funding to assist
you*
Some facts about the Projects:

Honors students may substitute the LEP in
place of their Honors Projects

Students may complete LEPs individually
or as part of a team

Students may create their own LEP
proposals or work with the Institute for
Leadership Advancement for placement
into an existing project
*UAkron CBA Students with a 3.0 or above and all
Honors Students are eligible to complete an LEP

We Will Help You
With a commitment to complete the
Leadership Advancement Certificate Program,
students are eligible to receive a “Leadership
Advancement Award” of up to $2000! The
awarded amount can be applied towards the
“Leadership Experience Project.”
This funding allows students to take a risk,
diversify their academic experience, and
receive opportunities that will help them stand
apart from other college graduates.
To do this, students will include a budget
proposal outlining how the funds will advance
their leadership experience and their projects.

We will happily advise you towards developing
a project of your choice or placing you into an
existing project.
Additionally, CBA students should enroll in
6100:499 or Honors students in 6100:497.
