Clinic History and Mission
The clinic is part of the Department of
Counseling, operating on The University
of Akron campus. Since 1986, the clinic
has provided a wide array of counseling
services to the Greater Akron area and
its surrounding communities.
Our Clinic missions are:
» To provide high-quality, low-cost mental
health services to the Greater Akron area.
• Counseling services are provided to
individuals of all ages, couples, families
and/or groups.
» To provide state-of-the-art, graduate-level
training in mental health care.
• Under the supervision of qualified faculty
members, graduate students receive a
broad range of mental health training
experiences, including assessment and
evaluation, clinical diagnosis, treatment
planning, case consultation and diverse
approaches to counseling/therapy.

on a sliding scale) and depend on the type of group.
