Criteria for Admission to Stream 3
Important Notes:






Students will not automatically be admitted to Stream 3, with the exception of international students
studying in Australia under a student visa (see section D below).
Any students identified as being “at risk” in terms of their academic rate of progress (see section C
below) will generally be required to complete Stream 3.
Admission to Stream 3 is subject to approval by the Workplace Learning team.
Requests for Stream 3 will be considered on a case-by-case basis
Relevant supporting documentary evidence must be supplied in order for any application to be
considered.
Prior to submitting a request for admission to this Stream, students should read the Privacy and
Personal Information Protection Act 1998 (NSW) and Health Records and Information Privacy Act
2002 (NSW) (http://student.csu.edu.au/home/about/legal).
Circumstances which may lead to admission to Stream 3:
A.
Misadventure and Extenuating Circumstances
Students who suffer misadventure or are affected by extenuating circumstances as described in the Special
Consideration Regulations (http://www.csu.edu.au/acad_sec/academic-manual/docs/c3.pdf).
B.
Inability to organise a placement
Students who have made multiple attempts to organise a work placement but not met with success and
have retained proof of their attempts may submit a case for admission to Stream 3. Proof of such attempts
MUST be supplied in order for any application to be considered.
C.
Unsatisfactory rate of progress
Students who are not deemed to have a satisfactory rate of progress in accordance with the Academic
Progress Regulations (http://www.csu.edu.au/acad_sec/academic-manual/docs/i1.pdf) will generally be
required to complete Stream 3.
D.
International Students
Overseas students studying in Australia on a student visa will be unable to participate in work placements
due to the requirements of the ESOS Act. These students will automatically be allocated to Stream 3.
