Delta Kappa Gamma Society International Alpha Delta State ESTHER H. STRICKLAND STUDENT TEACHING GRANT FOR COLLEGE SENIORS Alpha Delta State of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International is pleased to offer financial assistance to selected students who are engaged in the pre-service teaching experience. Award: Student teaching grants for college seniors in education in state supported colleges and universities at $1,000 per recipient. Eligibility: The college student has applied to one of the state universities in Ohio to student teach within the time frame of the August 2016- June 2017 academic year. Requirements: To be considered applicants must complete the application process. This includes: 1. The completed application form. 2. Two professional letters of recommendation. The letters should address the applicant’s present grade point average and other qualifications. At least one letter must be from a professor from a course the applicant has taken. Letters should be on official letterhead stationery and include the date, signature and official title of the individual providing the recommendation. Please, address letters to the Chairman of the Scholarship and Grants Committee, Alpha Delta State. 3. Most recent copy of official college or university transcripts. Deadline: March 1, 2016 Only completed applications will be considered. Application packages postmarked after March 1, 2016 will not be reviewed for consideration. Obligations: Scholarships will be awarded in April of 2016. Recipients will be required to write a letter of acceptance within 10 days of receiving the award. Prior to student teaching and the release of funds, recipients will be required to provide official verification of registration for student teaching. * Pages are to be paper clipped in the upper left-hand corner.
