Facilitation Issue no 105 - August 2012

FMD, University of Waikato
Issue No: 105 – August 2012
College Hall Block D Refurbishment
Friday 17th August saw the handover of College Hall Block D, the first accommodation block to be refurbished under a
rolling programme which will see all UOW student accommodation blocks renovated within the next 5 or 6 years.
The photos are 'before and after' shots of a typical bedroom plus views of the new roof, along with a picture of the Lounge.
As well as complete re-vitalisation of the interiors, an important feature of the upgrade of CH blocks is renewal and reprofiling of the roofs: to get rid of internal gutters and ageing roof iron.
So far, feed-back on the revamped interiors has all been positive. Foster Construction has now moved into CHC block,
which is due for occupation before the start of next A semester.
