The group runs in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere in which everyone can experience their enjoyment of photography and improve their skills. Members are expected to share their photographic experiences, ask questions and come up with ideas for learning. We have experienced members to assist those that want to learn. We have two monthly night group meetings per month. We also have photographic activities, outings and workshops throughout the year. We have two Groups – Novice and Intermediate/ Advanced which meet at different Picture above by: Lance McCaughan times of the month. Night shoots and workshops are very popular with our group. There are a number of pieces that make up the sculpture and the timber still has to be finished off and stained. We'll all have to wait for the grand opening in October to see the final product. Memorial Seat for Hemi Dean On 21st July, FM staff, Bonita Dean, and her whanau gathered to say a few words, following the installation of a seat with a plaque on it, along the cobbled path around the campus, quite close to the Facilities Management building. Paul Blair’s trip to Central America Some photos from Paul’s recent trip to Central America. These were taken in Cahuita National Park where we went wildlife spotting for the day. Cahuita National Park is a conservation area located on the southern Caribbean coast of Costa Rica and is connected to the town of Cahuita. The park encompasses the local lowlands, beaches, and coastal reefs so provides protection to both land and marine life. Pleasantly underdeveloped, a guided walk along a coastal track made boggy by unseasonal rains allowed us to spot some of the residents who call it home.
