Attraction

Attraction Strategies
Planning your advertising strategy is an important step that will help you source a wide pool
of high quality candidates through different channels.
The University has a number of sourcing channels to attract external candidates:
Careers with CSU
Both internal and external positions are advertised on the University's Careers with CSU
website http://www.csu.edu.au/jobs
Online job boards
Generally, online advertisements attract the highest response rate as opposed to print
media. CSU currently advertises on:



SEEK
Evocities
Unijobs
Print Media
Print media is often used to attract candidates who are not actively looking. The University
has developed a number of advertisement templates to suit a variety of positions. This is to
ensure the University's employment brand is consistent. The advertisements direct
candidates to the University's website to apply. Print media will include local or national
press.
Industry Journals
Placing advertisements in industry journals may attract candidates who are not actively
looking. It is also a more customised strategy for hard to fill positions.
Recruitment Agencies
Can be used by individual Divisions and Faculties to source staff in hard to fill positions.
Please contact the HR Liaison Team directly if you are interested in recruiting using this
method.
External Executive Search Firms
May be used for high level executive recruitment.
Appointment by invitation
Please contact the HR Liaison Team directly if you are interested in recruiting using this
method.
LinkedIn
Social networking site for people in professional occupations, CSU uses this recruitment tool
to connect with many hard-to-find professionals whom we may not have had the opportunity
to connect with using more conventional means.
Casual Recruitment
Casual employment registers are used in the University to help identify and engage casual
staff.
