sustain a good examination in the following studies:
GREEK.
First four books of Xerwphon's Anabasis; first three books
of Homer's Iliad, or their equivalents; Greek Grammar and
Prosody.
LATIN.
'rhree books. of Crosar's ConmlenutricH; Bucolics of Virgil,
and six books of the JEneid; four Orations of Cicero; Latin
Grammar and Prosody; ::md twelve lessons in Prose Composition.
MATHEMATICS.
Arithmetic; Algebra, to Equations of the Second Degree.
ENGLISH.
English Gramm~r; History of the United States; Modern
Ancient Geography.
Candidates for advanced ~>tanding are examined in the
above studies, and in those that have been pursued by the class
which they purpose to enter; and if from other colleges, they
must furnish certifica1es of regular dismission.
Students failing to maintain proper rank in any branch
during the course, will be subjected to conditions which must
be made up before they can be entitled to a degree.
Examinations for admission will be on Thursday after Commencement, and on Tuesday before the opening of the :First

DEGREES.
'rhe Degree of Bachelor of Arts will be conferred on students
having completed the Classical Course.
'l'he Degree of Bachelor of Science will be uonferred on those
having completed the Scientific Course.
'l'he Degree of Bachelor of Philosophy will be conferred on
those having completed tile Philosophical Course.
Every Bachelor of three years' standing in the Classical
Course, having sustained a good character and been devoted to
intellectual pursuits, and having paid to the Treasurer five
dollars, shall be entitled to the degree of Master of Arts; on
the ~mme conditions, any Bachelor of three years' standing in
the Scientific or Philosophical Course, shall be entitled to the
degree of Master of Science or Philosophy.

No deduction from tuition, or from board, except for absence
on account of sickness, or by permission of the President.

discharge their bills, and necessary for the incidental expenses.
