Please note the sales and use tax collected in October is predominately from September sales but also includes delinquent collections from prior periods. In October 2015, sales tax collected in Fort Collins was $107K above the amount budgeted. Year to date, the City has collected 3.0% more sales tax revenue than budgeted, for a net gain of $2.6M. October Use Tax Budget to Actual Excluding Rebates. In October 2015, use tax collected in Fort Collins was $467K over the amount budgeted. Year to date, the City has collected 48.5% more use tax revenue than budgeted for a net gain of $7.5M. 1 Figure 2. In October 2015, sales tax collected in Fort Collins decreased 3% over October 2014. Sales tax collected totaled $8.9 million compared to $9.2 million in 2014. October Use Tax Collected. The total use tax collected in September was $2.0 million, a decrease of 58.8% compared to last October. The estimated use tax collected in October related to economic incentive agreements was $21K as illustrated on Figure 5. This amount will be rebated in the succeeding calendar year. The net use tax collections for October totaled $2.0 million for a net 42.6% decrease. Total Sales and Use Tax Collected. Total tax collected of $10.9M was 22.6% lower than last October. 3 Figure 6. The sales tax collected in October for the downtown area decreased 1.1% from the same period in 2014. Lodging Tax Collections. The City collected $147,193 in lodging taxes in October 2015. This was an increase of 16.0 % from October 2014. Sales Tax Licenses. There were 11,123 active sales tax licenses at the end of October. 6
