Our campus is very safe, however you need to
observe some common sense guidelines, to
keep you and your property protected.
We want your experience at CSU to be an
enjoyable one. We don’t want your CSU
memories to be about unpleasantness, such
as break-ins or stolen property, so please help
yourself and other students by making sure
that everything you own is secure, so you won’t
attract unwanted attention to your belongings.
Should you encounter criminal activity, please
call your nearest police station and obtain an
event number, then contact allocated campus
security number provided below, or internal 400.

Should you need Emergency services such as
Police, Ambulance or Fire, call 000 (triple zero)
and please ask them to meet security at the
front entrance and call CSU Security so they can
escort them to the appropriate location.

A Short Guide to the
Halls of Residence
at CSU
LIVE IT, LEARN IT, LOVE IT
Students living in University accommodation are
expected to have the ability to advocate their own
interests and respect the rights of others.
Residents are expected to accept the
responsibilities associated with a shared living
environment and abide by the Residence Life
Code of Conduct:
• No smoking within four metres of a
CSU building
• Tampering with safety equipment is a
criminal offence
• You are responsible for your visitors’ behaviour
at all times
• Unacceptable behaviour will be reported to the
Residence Life Manager.

WHAT WE DO
Provide a 24-hour, seven days a week service
to campuses, ensuring a safe and secure
environment for all staff, students and visitors.
• Responding to reports about suspicious activity
or conduct
The Security Service provides an invaluable
service to the campus community through:
• Responding to emergencies.
• Safe escort service after dark
• Providing assistance
• Answering inquiries

Noise curfew is enforcable after 10pm.
• Providing first aid assistance
ZERO tolerance to noise during exam periods,
along with dry campus rules.
• Accepting incident reports from members
of the community relating to safety/security
incidence, etc.

The Security Service can be contacted through
office telephones or from any Security telephone
located about campus.
All Officers are licensed security operatives as
required by the Security Industry Act. All Officers
are required to maintain a current Senior First Aid
certificate and undergo training in various aspects
of their work including fire safety.
