Objectiu de la convocatòria
Atorgar ajuts a la recerca sobre el paper de l’alimentació, la nutrició, l’activitat física i el control del pes en la prevenció i
el control del càncer.
Característiques principals
Prioritats de recerca:
- Strengthen the evidence for specific nutritional or physical activity exposures in relation to cancer
- Examine effect sizes with respect to timing, dose and duration of exposure for those exposures where strong evidence
of a causal relationship exists
- Evaluate effect modification by environmental and genetic factors on cancer risk
- Investigate mechanisms that link foods and drinks, dietary constituents, or other nutritional and physical activity factors
to cancer risk
- Identify and study genetic polymorphisms and nutritional exposures that influence gene expression and can be useful
for understanding the relationship between nutrition or physical activity and cancer
- Assess whether weight loss in overweight or obese people can reduce cancer risk
- Identify and study the relevant milestones in the timing of growth and development that affect cancer risk and how they
can be modified by food, nutrition and physical activity
- Identify and evaluate methods to study factors related to food production, processing, preservation and cooking
methods, which may affect cancer risk
- Evaluate the effect of food, nutrition, body composition and physical activity on outcomes in cancer survivors
- Evaluate differences in relationships between food, nutrition, physical activity and cancer risk in various parts of the
world
- Examine how measures of food, nutrition, physical activity and body composition, in relation to cancer risk, can be
improved .
Dotació i durada: fins a un màxim de 250.000 lliures per fins a 4 anys de projecte, amb un màxim de 75.000 per any.
