Interpretive Center
BAKER CITY, Oregon -- The National Historic Oregon Trail Interpretive Center is
pleased to announce a series of performances by Buffalo Bill Boycott. He will be
presenting a 45 minute musical interpretation of life on the Oregon Trail using
tunes from the period. Mr. Boycott performs on the fiddle, mandolin, banjo and
guitar, and brings to life through music the “Wild West”. He has produced two
programs on the history of the west and the Oregon Trail with a focus on Wyoming
in cooperation with Wyoming Public Television and has performed in concert with
Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Waddie Mitchell and Riders in the Sky. Performances are
scheduled for 10 a.m., noon and 2 p.m. on Wednesday, August 22nd through
Saturday, August 25th. Put on your toe-tapping shoes and come on out for this
musical treat.
The National Historic Oregon Trail Interpretive Center is 5 miles east of Baker City
on Highway 86. Take Exit 302 from I – 84. For more information, call (541) 5231843 or visit oregontrail.blm.gov . The Interpretive Center is operated by the
Bureau of Land Management and is a federal fee site. Admission for adults is $5.
Children 15 or under are free. Federal passes are accepted.
