Resource Advisory Council Group to Meet at BLM in Spokane August 18, 2006
Spokane, WA - The Eastern Washington Resource Advisory Council (RAC) is scheduled to
meet Friday, August 18, from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., at the Bureau of Land Management (BLM)
Spokane District Office, 1103 North Fancher, Spokane Valley, Washington, 99212. The entire
meeting is open to the public, and public comment is invited at 8:30 a.m. Discussion will focus on
the proposed Huckleberry Forest Stewardship Project - a vegetation treatment project for 190 acres of
public land in Stevens County Washington, approximately 50 miles northwest of Spokane. After the
meeting, the RAC will tour the Huckleberry Project area.
The Eastern Washington Resource Advisory Council is comprised of 15 members from a
variety of backgrounds who are appointed by the Secretary of the Interior. The council reviews
overall planning and proposed activities on public land in eastern Washington and provides
advice to the BLM and U.S. Forest Service. For additional information about the Resource
