The BLM is in the process of revising the six resource management plans for its western Oregon Districts, including the Roseburg District. Plan revisions are expected to be completed in 2008. The workshop will be an opportunity for the public to learn about the range of management alternatives being considered in the revisions, ask questions of the planning team, and provide feedback on the alternatives. The workshop is planned for Wednesday, March 8th from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Roseburg District Office at 777 Garden Valley Boulevard in Roseburg. In January 2006, a document was released to the public that provides a brief description of the management alternatives, as well as describing the planning process and the goals of the plan revision. This document, entitled “Planning Criteria and State Director Guidance,” and its contents will form the basis for discussions at next week’s workshop. Written comments on the document will also be accepted until March 17, 2006. Additional information on the plan revision process and copies of the planning documents are available online at http://www.blm.gov/or/plans/wopr.
