Draft Table Rocks Management Plan Available for Public Comment The Butte Falls Resource Area, Medford District Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is requesting public comments on the draft Table Rocks Management Plan. The BLM is developing a cooperative management plan with The Nature Conservancy (TNC) that considers a variety of habitat enhancement activities to protect sensitive resources while allowing responsible and compatible recreational and environmental educational uses. The management plan covers about 4,870 acres of land on Upper and Lower Table Rocks managed by the BLM and TNC. Management recommendations and project proposals include habitat restoration treatments; removing or decommissioning structures or roads that are causing resource damage; trail improvements and signing to protect special plant and wildlife species; additional trail and interpretive facilities emphasizing tribal partnerships and Camp White history; and establishing consistent visitor use regulations for both BLM and TNC. “We look forward to working with our partners and the public on the long term management of the Table Rocks, for habitat enhancement while promoting recreation and environmental education.” Jon Raby, Field Manager, Butte Falls Resource Area, Medford District. The BLM would like to hear any comments, issues, and concerns you have that would help shape or further develop the management plan. The draft plan is available for review on the Medford District website http://www.blm.gov/or/districts/medford/plans/index.php. Please send written comments by August 31, 2012 to BLM, Medford District, Butte Falls Resource Area, 3040 Biddle Road, Medford, Oregon 97504, or e-mail to [email protected].
