This is an area adjacent to 13-1, it was also heli logged at the same time. (1999)It was
more heavily logged than 13-1 and is bare and dry, or fully filled with poison oak and
other brush. Most of the stand is not
recovering well. While the top picture
does not look like a “fire-hazard” it is
most of the hilltop (the entire stand) I
think this is good structural diversity in
small doses, in this fragile environment
this can easily become no longer a
forest. This is apparent when driving
along the lower elevation levels of
Thompson Creek and 238. The stands
became too thin and are no longer
forested.
