This is an area adjacent to 13-1, it was also heli logged at the same time. (1999)It was more heavily logged than 13-1 and is bare and dry, or fully filled with poison oak and other brush. Most of the stand is not recovering well. While the top picture does not look like a “fire-hazard” it is most of the hilltop (the entire stand) I think this is good structural diversity in small doses, in this fragile environment this can easily become no longer a forest. This is apparent when driving along the lower elevation levels of Thompson Creek and 238. The stands became too thin and are no longer forested.
