Top: Most of these trees are greater than the
30”DBA the canopy is thin and the undergrowth
is dense vegetation but not much regeneration
of conifers. The canopy has been left too thing.
This is actually on the top of 19-1 which has
been pulled from the sale, but a good example
of the long recovery time. Also
many trees looked
compromised.
Objectives of this treatment
are to “conserve and and
improve survivability of older
trees (over 150) by reducing
nearby fuels and competitive
vegetation.” These trees don’t
appear healthy.

While I don’t want to “chat” over individual trees--this was a concern. The tree on the
right is not marked as a save tree (19-1) as the tree
next to it
is. This tree contains a marked birds nest quite
high. If you follow the line you will see a white
ribbon with red dots. This is the same tree not
marked as a keep.
