To Whom it May Concern,
I fully oppose the Pilot Thompson project. I feel the entire project should be scrapped. More specifically, I oppose
all helicopter logging units because it has been shown such logging will directly destroy spotted owl habitat. I
also specifically oppose unit 19-4 because this particular unit is in no need of thinning or restoration. Unit 19-4 is
a healthy, fire-adapted stand that should remain as-is, if not for its own beauty but also as a representation of
what our forests could look like if natural fire and/or healthy, controlled bums and restoration were implemented
by the BLM. Also, I oppose unit 20-1 as this unit specifically would create more roads through established oak
woodlands in order to log old-growth trees. I oppose all road-building in general; more roads are not what our
forests need as more roads actually help exacerbate existing challenges facing our forests.
