Award Highlights
Academic Affairs
Troy Montgomery
The Alabama Department of Archives and History funded the
2015/2016 Troy University Student Intern Program written by
Dr. Lance Tatum.
Arts and Sciences
Biological and Environmental Sciences
Dr. Michael Stewart and Jonathan Miller received a grant from
the United States Navy and Gulf Coast Cooperative Ecosystem
Studies Unit to complete a survey and riparian habitat suitability
assessment for the inflated heelsplitter mussel.
Education
AMSTI
Alabama’s Department of Education funded Kim Dove and
Sherri Blackmon’s project entitled Math and Science
Partnership with a significant grant.
Interpreter Training Programs
Scholarships for interpreter training will continue via Dr. Andy
Creamer and Judy Robertson’s grant from the Alabama
Department of Mental Health.
Counseling, Rehabilitation and Interpreter Training
Dr. Suzanne Tew-Washburn, Joel Willis and the late Dr.
Cozetta Shannon collaborated last fall on two recently awarded
grants from the US Department of Education. These multicampus grants will support travel and scholarships for training
rehabilitation counselors for public service for deaf/hard-ofhearing and mentally ill consumers.
Technology in Motion
Troy’s technology in motion grant, written by Dr. Kathy
Hildebrand, Faye Allen and Buddy Weldon, has been renewed
by Alabama’s Department of Education.
