Trojan Barbie
By Christine Evans
Wed 31 May—Sat 3 June | 7pm
Directed by Gaye Poole, Performed by Theatre Studies' Play Production students.
As the fall of Troy ripples through time, Christine Evans contorts past with present in Trojan Barbie. Alongside a backdrop of modern warfare we follow Lotte, on holiday in modern Turkey, as she crosses paths with Trojan women
(Hecuba, Andromache) in a US military war encampment. Ancient myth melds with modern warfare. Cassandra and
PollyX encounter modern soldiers. Helen of Troy is the 'war bitch'.
“If you like your live theatre thought-provoking, heart-wrenching, and cathartic, then Christine Evans’ Trojan Barbie… is
for you." - Huffington Post.

True True
Ahsin Ahsin, Stephanie Christie, Judy Darragh, Mardo
El-Noor, Julian Hooper, Lauren Stewart, Sara Highes,
Rachel Wells
Monday 15 May - Friday 14 July 2017
True True, a phrase taken from David Mitchell's book and
later Lilly and Lana Wachowski's 2012 science fiction film
Cloud Atlas. A True True is a noun from a futuristic pidgin
english meaning the real truth and acts as an anchor for the
selection of the works in the exhibition. Some of the artists
work within systems that utilise technology to create their
works, others have technology and its place in our lives as
an underpinning narrative to make work from.
The works in the exhibition are selected by the curator and
display a range of traditional media, digital painting, photography and installation.
