SCOFMP Fire Information Officer: Brian Reublinger (541) 947-6243 June 11, 2015 FIRE UPDATE Lakeview, OR – Fire activity yesterday increased by 6 additional wildfires brings the two day total to 31. Firefighters kept all 31 wildfires from growing past initial attack sizes. This morning there has only been one reported new fire in the SCOFMP area. SCOFMP consists of lands managed by the Fremont-Winema National Forest (FWF), the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Lakeview District, Oregon Department of Forestry (ODF), National Park Service - Crater Lake (CLP), and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS). The largest of 6 wildfires reported yesterday was the 0.41 acre Tobin fire and second largest was the Cowbell fire at 0.25 acres. All six were on ODF protected lands. The National Weather Service has continued a Red Flag Warning through 8 pm Friday evening for areas north of Chemult and Silver Lake for high winds and low relative humidities. All areas south have a predicted forecast of sunny skies and temperatures in the 80s today and Friday. There may be a thunderstorm over the Cascades or Siskiyous Sunday or Monday as but the chances are slim otherwise there is no precipitation expected for the next week.
