Troy University Libraries Electronic Reserves COPYRIGHT COMPLIANCE FORM The copyright law of the United States (Title 17, United States Code) governs the copying of copyrighted material. I understand and can be held liable for copyright infringement if I copy or assist in copying materials in excess of that permitted by law. I have read, understand, and agree to the information for faculty for placing materials on electronic reserve. All photocopied material will have copyright information and a complete bibliographic citation on the first page of each photocopy. I understand that the ERes System has the right and responsibility to refuse any submission that does not contain this information or that exceeds the amount of material that may be used within fair use (17 U.S.C. § 107) allowed under copyright law. I also understand that there is no instant processing of electronic reserve materials and will submit them at least three weeks before they are needed by students. I also understand that it is my responsibility to obtain any necessary written permission from copyright owners before incorporating copyright protected materials into my electronic reserve course page. If this length of time I wish to keep materials on reserve exceeds one term or if the materials exceed fair use allowed under copyright law, I must provide a copy of written permission to use the materials to the library.
