Remote Access - CSU Storage After submitting the Research Storage Request Form, your CSU storage will be established. To access your new storage, you will be given a unique CSU Storage address. Your storage will be created in a directory below the root directory for internal research storage (S:\Research\Research Data) How do I access my storage? Remote access allows you to connect to a CSU Virtual Private Network (VPN) server through a client on your computer. This will allow you to see CSU storage drives as if you were on campus. I don’t have VPN. How do I install it? 1. Go to vpn.csu.edu.au with your browser (Firefox recommended – see Internet Browser Recommendations and Support). 2. Click the Download button. 6. Click the Windows Desktop link. An .exe file will be downloaded to your machine. 3. Click Log In. 4. Use CSU-Staff-Users as the Group. 5. Put in your current CSU Username and Password. 7. Run the downloaded .exe file and click Next. Once the software has been installed, follow the process below: If you are using a CSU Imaged computer, you will need to login using the ‘CSU-VPN-Staff’ group. If you are using your personal computer or another non-CSU Imaged computer, you will need to login using the ‘CSU-VPN-Admin’ group. How do I make a VPN Connection? Search the Programs on your computer to find ‘Create a VPN connection’. Enter your: Internet Address: vpn.csu.edu.au Destination Name: [Whatever you like] and click Next. Enter your: User name: [Your CSU username] Password: [You current CSU password] and click Create. When you start Windows Explorer, you will now see all storage as you would on campus.
