Should I logoff or shut down the computer when I have finished teaching?

Windows 7
Should I “Log off” or “Shut down” the computer when I have finished?
When you have finished with the computer in the teaching space, it is courteous to
“Log off” from the computer.
This has two benefits, one that no one else can access your files and two, you are
leaving the computer switched on and ready to go for the next person.
We can also monitor the computers health remotely so attending to any problems
quickly.
To “Log off” from a Windows 7 computer, first press the Windows start button in
the bottom left of your screen.
This will bring up the option
to “Log off”
Press the text “Log off”
if you press the arrow to the right of the “Log off” button you will be given choices
to shut down etc. Please don’t use any of these.
Sometimes you will come across a computer that someone has left without
“Logging off” or shutting down. The computer will be “Locked” to that person.
The only way that you are able to “Log on” is to hard reset the computer.
To do this, hold in the power button for a few seconds until the computer powers
off.
Then you can wait a few
seconds before powering it on
again.
