You may have to turn the lights out on your departure. Basic SMART board use Some of the teaching spaces have SMART boards. When you press the interactive screen, the computer interprets your touch as a left-click, just as if you were using your mouse. If you’re using a SMART Board interactive whiteboard, pick up a coloured pen from the pen tray and write on the screen. When you start writing, the Floating Tools appear on your screen. You can use Area Capture button to save your notes. If your product has a pen tray, use the eraser to erase the digital ink. If you’re using a pen display, press the Eraser button and drag the pen tool across the screen. You can write a note on the screen over any application and convert your note to typed text by pressing and holding the note until you see a menu. Select one of the choices and the typed version of your note appears at the cursor location of your active file or dialog box. If you’d rather type into an active application or dialog box instead of converting your handwritten note, use the SMART Keyboard. This onscreen keyboard has different views, so you can select the one that best suits you. To change the view, open the SMART Keyboard from the Start Centre and then select the view you want. For example, you can open the Classic view of the SMART Keyboard to log on right at the interactive screen, or type numbers with the Number Pad view. To access the many tools in SMART Board software, double press the SMART Board icon in the system tray to open the Start Centre. This should already be open and showing on the left hand side of the SMART board as an overlay. The Start Centre is a vertical toolbar for quick access to the SMART Board tools and any other applications you add. You can customize the toolbar further by making it smaller or transparent.
