OHTGYP Snapshot (from Rockhampton School Dental) SERVICE PROVIDER Rockhampton School Dental 2014 GRADUATE Lemuel Lee BASED at Rockhampton Graduate Experiences Lemuel plays an integral part of the Rockhampton Community Dental team, offering Therapy and Hygiene, primarily to children in school dental. The OHTGYP curriculum supports Lemuel’s clinical practice and offers exceptional reference backing to the graduates via various online programs and collaboration. The OHTGYP content encouraged Lemuel’s learning development with the topics provided as they were relevant while working with children and the community. Lemuel has worked in the Rockhampton Community Dental Clinic, however is primarily based in Dental Van MVC 189 in School Dental. Lemuel is currently working on an on-going research project with Associate Professor Leonie Short at Central Queensland University. Lemuel continually provides school children with knowledge in regards to oral health hygiene during his time working with the Child Dental Benefit Scheme. The best aspect of the program is having the chance to work within school dental and the community. I enjoy working the public system and interacting with other health professionals. Lemuel Lee Rotations Oral Health Therapist graduate Lemuel has enjoyed a number of different rotations around the Rockhampton region such as, the Rockhampton Community Dental Clinic, and school dental van MVC 189. Lemuel has cycled through four schools (Lakes Creek Primary School, Emmaus College, The Caves and Parkhurst Primary School). Lemuel Lee outside school dental van with dental assistant Wendy Doyle Service Provider Lemuel has displayed a true commitment to his clinical practice, which has therefore contributed to a reduction in the lengthy public waiting list at Rockhampton Community Dental. The main project Lemuel is involved in is working with the Child Dental Benefit Scheme. He has seen numerous patients in regards to this scheme. Lemuel has maintained close working relations with his fellow colleagues. He has been fortunate enough to have been mentored by a number of Oral Health Therapist in Rockhampton. The program’s curriculum was relevant, especially when I was working with children in the community. Ultimately, it helped to further develop my knowledge and learning.
