Employment Screening Policy states that ‘students are required to obtain a National Police Certificate for the purpose of undertaking clinical placements in NSW Health agencies’. And when you visit the NSW police service page they indicate that they are not for student placements: http://www.police.nsw.gov.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0005/273983/Information_sheet_2.pdf These checks will have “aged care volunteer use only” printed on the certificate. Therefore, the certificate is not suitable for any other purpose. This type of check should only be used for volunteers in Commonwealth funded aged care facilities.
