How Does Host Use Youtube In Meeting?

How does a Host search and use clips from YouTube during a meeting?
“ConnectTube allows Meeting Hosts to search YouTube and play back the results synchronously for
meeting participants. Please note: ConnectTube does not currently support video playback in
recordings.”

To search and use clips from Youtube during a meeting first a Host needs to:
1. Be aware that seeing flash based products like YouTube content is unsupported on IOS
devices like ipads unless participants are using a conversion app like the Puffin Web Browser
App.
2. From the “Pods” menu choose “Share” “Add a New Share” pod;
3. In the Share Pod:
• from the drop down select “Share document”
•
choose ConnectTube.swf from “Shared Content”
•
The white text box in ConnectTube can:
o have a known YouTube url typed or copied in;
o be searched:
for YouTube clips to show.
•
Hosts can use the:
o Search YouTube for relevant clips
eg “Victor bakes Science” or “Landfill Harmonic orchestra”
o “Play”, “Pause” and “Stop” the YouTube clip using Steps 1 to 5 as shown in
the diagram.
Please note: The “Synch” button should be grey
or “Synchronised” to control what
participants are viewing;
o “Draw” option to draw over the YouTube clip;
Please note that when using the “Draw” option as a Host, the lines (and text
etc) you draw as a Host
do not always end up in the same location in the Participant view as shown
below.
o “Arrow” pointer
to indicate parts of the YouTube clip to participants;
o “Force Presenter View” pod option to ensure participants are viewing what
Hosts are viewing;
o resulting YouTube clip ( eg “Landfill Harmonic orchestra”) as the basis for:
 Discussion,
 Polls,
 Q&A,


