DFM report on 021815 – 3 DFM to review offset planting tracking process
-
DFM report via CSU Green shows that 700 trees are required as offset
planting for Sports Ground development. However, no funding was
allocated in the project budget for tree planting. Therefore, CSU will plant
700 trees over time as resources allow.
-
The attached map shows the area earmarked for off-set planting. It was
noted that volunteers’ planting as part of tree planting day is shown as grey
area on the map, and that this will not be used as offset planting.
-
DFM have completed preparatory work: mapping, fencing, weed treatment,
and closing areas for natural revegetation. They aim to progress tree planting
with advice from the AWCEC.
-
The committee highlighted the need for
o Projects to allocate funds for offset planting where required
o A formal CSU system that enables tracking and mapping of offset
planting
