Sherburne-Earlville Elementary School News The Circus By Brandon S. and Anna R. 2-Mo The day after school ended, the circus came to Sherburne. The kids saw a red truck with a picture of a circus painted on it. The kids on the side of the road were cheering for the circus. The animals came to town on the train. The circus people put up the tents on the grass. The big show was going to start. The townspeople were happy and excited. Everyone needed to bring four dollars to buy tickets and extra money for snacks and drinks. The clowns came in driving a small car. They were wild and threw • Principal Mr. Douchinsky •Issue 6 08-09 pies at each other. Their costumes were very silly with dots and stripes. Their faces were painted and they wore funny wigs. The gymnasts came and swung on the swings. They did flips in the air. They were wearing something like a bathing suit decorated with glitter. The lion tamer brought in ten lions. The lions were vicious and scary. The tamer threw meat into the cage. The lions fought over it and roared. All performers bowed. The people in the crowd clapped and left. It was a great time for all. Afterwards, the children slept very well dreaming about the circus. Poetry Page: Seasons FALL Colorful, big leaves Picking huge, juicy apples Birds flying southward -Lexie J.
